Black History Month

Every February, Canadians, especially the members of our community are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honor the legacy of Black Canadians. At HOGIM we have members that hail from 38 different black nations, and we enjoy celebrating and  honoring all Black Canadian and other black people in our community in the month of February, every year.

The year’s theme for Black History Month is: “Black, Strong, and Beautiful: Celebrating Black History today and every day,” which focuses on recognizing the daily contributions that Black Canadians make to Canada.

No matter where you live, we invite all Canadians to learn more about these communities, and how they continue to help shape the story of Canada.
